The Ilorin Emirate Youth Development Association, IEYDA, has applauded the induction of eminent citizens including the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu Gambari; Prof. Ibrahim Gambari and Prof. Shuaib Abdulraheem into the Ilorin Emirate Hall of Fame.
National President, Alhaji Mohammed Uthman and National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Abdullahi Abdulfatah described the honour as a fitting recognition of “exceptional leadership, scholarship and selfless service” to Ilorin Emirate and Nigeria.
They said that the induction of the Emir was a powerful affirmation of a lifetime devoted to diplomacy, wisdom and nation-building.
“The leadership had consistently advanced education, governance and socio-economic development across the emirate.
“This honour underscores the enduring legacy of his royal highness as a statesman of global repute and a custodian of values that continue to elevate Ilorin Emirate,” their statement read.
The association noted that the Emir’s investments in human capacity development, had inspired generations of leaders and professionals.
They praised the emir, describing him as a scholar-diplomat, whose contributions to global diplomacy, peacebuilding and governance had brought lasting honour to Nigeria and Ilorin Emirate.
“He epitomises purposeful leadership, humility and wisdom, and his career has etched Ilorin’s name in the annals of international excellence,” it stated.
Similarly, the association commended Prof. Abdulraheem, the Talba of Ilorin and a former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, for his far-reaching contributions to education and public service.
They described Abdulraheem as one of the emirate’s finest intellectual experts, whose impact continues to inspire excellence.
The association congratulated other inductees into the Hall of Fame, noting that their recognition collectively reflected the depth of leadership, moral strength and human capital within Ilorin emirate.
They also commended the Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union for conceptualising and organising the initiative, describing it as visionary and culturally significant. NAN
