The Commissioner for Energy, AbdulAzeez AbdulGaniy, announced the state government’s commitment to advancing renewable energy initiatives on Wednesday during a technical inspection conducted at the proposed site for a solar farm, which is part of the state’s broader renewable energy planning efforts.

As part of the visit, the delegation also paid a courtesy call on the Elerin of Erin-Ile, Oba Jimoh Adebowale Adesoye Adetona I. This engagement underscored the importance of stakeholder participation in fostering positive community relations and promoting the acceptance of the solar farm project within the local community.

AbdulGaniy reiterated that the government had sustained its drive toward realising a sustainable renewable energy project for improved power supply statewide, economic growth, industrial expansion and inclusive development across Kwara State.

The commissioner said the initiative aimed to improve electricity supply, stimulate economic activities, and enhance the overall quality of life for residents across communities statewide through renewable energy driven development programmes.
