The AFRIMA Music Village lit up Ikeja City Mall in Lagos on Friday night, delivering an unforgettable celebration of African music and culture that drew a massive crowd of enthusiastic music fans.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the event, organised as part of activities marking the 9th All Africa Music Awards stretched late into the early hours of Saturday as fans gathered to experience an energetic blend of sounds from across the continent.

The event which celebrated music, culture and live entertainment, offered an immersive experience as top African artistes thrilled the audience with high energy performances and diverse musical styles.

It was an unforgettable night of excitement as legendary Afrobeat musician, Femi Kuti mounted the stage to roaring cheers, delivering powerful performances that set the tone for the night with rich instrumentation and energetic delivery.

Nigerian singer, Wande Coal, also thrilled the crowd with a string of his hit songs, combining smooth vocals with a strong stage presence that kept fans singing along.

Tanzanian music stars, Diamond Platnumz and Harmonize, further heightened the atmosphere with electrifying performances, bringing East African vibes and infectious rhythms that sent fans into a frenzy.

Afro pop singer, Yemi Alade, captivated the audience with her vibrant stage presence and popular songs, while Ghanaian dancehall star, Stonebwoy, ignited excitement with his energetic delivery and commanding performance.

Congolese artiste, Innos’B, added a continental flair with his unique sound, as Nigerian performers, Kcee, 9ice, Obesere, Jeriq and Skales, thrilled fans with performances that showcased the depth and diversity of Nigeria’s music scene.

Ghanaian singer, Moliy, alongside Mavo, and veteran Fuji performer, Ayuba, also delivered engaging performances that kept the crowd fully entertained throughout the night.

Some fun seekers who spoke with NAN expressed excitement at witnessing live performances from artistes across different parts of Africa.

A music enthusiast, Tunde Adebayo, said the event exceeded expectations.

“The lineup was amazing and seeing artistes from different African countries perform on one stage was truly special,” he said.

Sadiya Musa, who attended the event with friends, described the music village as an unforgettable experience.

“The energy, the performances and the crowd were incredible as it felt like a true celebration of African music,” she said.

Similarly, Kunle Adeyemi, described the event as refreshing.

“The mix of sounds and cultures made it special. AFRIMA really showcased the beauty of African music,” he said.

Another attendee, Aisha Bello, applauded the organisers for a well coordinated event.

“Everything was well organised and exciting as events like this show that Lagos can host world class music festivals,” she said.

The continental global music celebration, which began on Wednesday, Jan. 7, will climax on Sunday, Jan. 11.
