The APC Youth Wing has appointed prominent party leaders to head the review process for the Rising Progressive Young Leaders Fellowship, RPLF.

The fellowship attracted over 1,700 applications from young Nigerians, aiming to identify the country’s next generation of governance-ready leaders.

Dr Dayo Israel, APC National Youth Leader, in statement on Tuesday, said appointees include former Ambassador, Elijah Onyeagba, and Mrs Rinsola Abiola, Director-General of Citizens and Leadership Centre.

Others named were Galaxy Backbone’s Segun Olulade, former SSA to President Buhari, Wole Aboderin, and Mrs Moremi Ojudu, SSA to the President on Community Engagement.

The committee also features Mrs Chalya Shagaya, Ms Atika Ajana, Mrs Toun Okewale Sonaiya, Mrs Zainab Buba Marwa, Mr Bode Olugbore, and several notable public figures.

Israel said the 170-member committee, drawn nationwide, will review all RPLF applications. “The fellowship grooms governance-ready young leaders for national service,” he stated.

He described RPLF as a flagship initiative of the Progressive School of Politics, Leadership and Statecraft, APC Youth Wing’s human capital development arm.

“The programme targets exceptional emerging leaders capable of meaningful contributions to governance today and tomorrow,” Israel added.

According to him, the fellowship combines intellectual depth, practical exposure, and elite mentorship to prepare participants for public leadership.

Delivered through an immersive, high-intensity framework, the fellowship includes a residential component to minimise distractions and promote focused learning.

“This model fosters discipline, critical thinking, peer bonding, and leadership formation,” he said, adding that it aligns with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

The committee is divided into 17 groups, each reviewing 100 applications. A total of 350 candidates will advance to physical interviews.

Interviews will be conducted by former governors, agency heads, and senior party leaders. Experiential training includes leadership simulations, policy labs, and high-level governance discussions.

“The process is designed to be intellectually and ethically transformative. Further updates will be communicated in due course,” Israel said.
