Manchester United maintained their perfect record under interim head coach Michael Carrick beating 10-man Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 at the Old Trafford.
Tottenham were reduced to 10-men after Cristian Romero was sent off in the 29th minute.
Romero received the marching order for a rash challenge on Casemiro in the 29th minute.
The defender has now been sent off six times across all competitions since his Spurs debut in August 2021 – more than any other player in the competition in that period
Bryan Mbeumo’s 38th-minute strike put the hosts ahead going into the break.
