Plateau State Gov. Caleb Mutfwang called on the Muslim Ummah in the State and Nigeria in general to promote peaceful coexistence and unity at all times.
Mutfwang, who acknowledged the unwavering commitment of the Muslim community to peaceful coexistence in Plateau and Nigeria, described Eid-el-Fitr as a significant milestone that reinforces faith, sacrifice and submission to the will of God.
The governor, who commended the Muslim Ummah for the devotion, discipline and sacrifices exhibited throughout the holy month of Ramadan, urged them to sustain the spirit of love and understanding at all times.
“I heartily rejoice with the Muslim Ummah on this special occasion; an occasion which reminds us of the virtues of sacrifice and total submission to the will of the Almighty.
“As you celebrate, I encourage you to reflect on the values of love, charity and selflessness; and to work collectively towards building a more united, peaceful and prosperous Plateau and Nigeria.
“I join millions of well-wishers across the world in congratulating the Muslim Ummah in Plateau, Nigeria and beyond on this joyous occasion.
“I appeal that we sustain the values of peace, tolerance and unity; these virtues define the essence of Ramadan,” he said.
Mutfwang particularly called on the Muslims to use the occasion to pray for divine guidance and wisdom for leaders at all levels, in order to deliver responsive and people-oriented governance.
The governor, who reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to inclusive governance, assured the citizens of continued efforts to the safety of lives and property, improved welfare and promoting sustainable development at all levels.
He also urged citizens of the state, regardless of religion or tribe, to be united peaceful and law abiding.

He further called on the residents to support government policies, insisting that these policies and program aimed at creating a conducive environment for economic prosperity and sustainable development.
Gov. Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State urged residents to uphold the virtues of unity, compassion, and peaceful coexistence as Muslims across the state and beyond celebrate the 2026 Eid-el-Fitr festival.
The governor expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah for granting the Muslim faithful the strength to complete the fasting period, describing Eid-el-Fitr as a time for reflection, renewal, and recommitment to righteous living.
Mohammed urged citizens to sustain the moral lessons of Ramadan, including patience, charity, humility, and kindness, stressing that “true success lies in maintaining these virtues beyond the holy month.”
He encouraged continued support for the less privileged and adherence to the exemplary life of the Prophet Muhammad, anchored on mercy, justice, and generosity.
The governor commended religious leaders and scholars for their role in promoting peace, moral discipline, and unity throughout Ramadan, urging them to sustain their guidance for societal development.
Reaffirming Bauchi state’s tradition of harmony among diverse groups, Mohammed called for tolerance and mutual respect.
While noting that unity remains key to progress, the governor said: “I want to urge residents to remain vigilant and support security agencies with credible information, following emerging security concerns in parts of the state.
“As the government intensifies efforts to safeguard lives and property, security remains a collective responsibility,” he said.
He assured residents of Bauchi of his administration’s commitment to maintaining peace, while appreciating the support of the people as his government nears the end of its tenure.
The governor pledged to build on his achievements and deliver more dividends of democracy.
Mohammed, who acknowledged the prevailing economic challenges, reiterated his administration’s resolve to implement policies aimed at improving livelihoods through investments in agriculture, infrastructure, and human capital development.
He prayed to Almighty Allah to accept the month-long worship and wished all Muslims a peaceful and joyful Eid celebration.
Ebonyi State Gov. Francis Nwifuru advised the Muslim faithful to use the occasion of the Eid-el-Fitr to pray for tolerance and the success of the 2027 general elections.
He also called on the Muslims to pray for sustained peace in Nigeria and global stability.
“As the nation gradually approaches the 2027 political season, Nigerians should seek divine guidance.
“Pray that we are guided by wisdom, tolerance, and a collective resolve to place the interest of our country above personal interests, and to ensure a violence-free election, as espoused by President Bola Tinubu.
“Continue to show love, extend charity, and promote camaraderie among your neighbors, as the holy season requires.
“On this sacred and joyous occasion of Eid-el-Fitr, I extend my warmest greetings and heartfelt goodwill to our Muslim brothers and sisters in Ebonyi State, across Nigeria, and around the world,” he said
The governor called on Muslim faithful to renew their commitment to the values of compassion, unity and generosity.
“As you celebrate this auspicious festival, I urge you to continue to extend love, kindness, and charity to the less privileged among us, in keeping with the true essence of Islam.
“At this critical time in our national journey, I call on all the faithful to offer prayers for enduring peace, unity, and stability in Nigeria.
“With the holy month of Ramadan coming to an end, we must also remember to pray for global peace, that conflicts may cease and that humanity may embrace dialogue, understanding, and coexistence.
“On behalf of the Government and good people of Ebonyi State, I wish you all a peaceful, joyful, and blessed Eid-el-Fitr celebration,” he stated.
