Nollywood actress Laide Bakare has revealed plans to walk down the aisle again, describing her upcoming wedding as her “first official” marriage despite two previous unions.

In a recent conversation with content creator Akin Abolade, the screen star revealed that preparations are already in full swing for the nuptials. Interestingly, despite her two previous high-profile marriages, Bakare described this upcoming ceremony as the first time she would be getting married “officially.”

“I will soon be getting married officially for the first time ever,” she stated, though she kept the specific date and the identity of her husband to be a closely guarded secret.

The actress, however, kept details of her fiancé and the wedding date under wraps.

In November 2023, Bakare sparked engagement rumors after sharing a proposal video that drew congratulatory messages from fans. She later clarified that the clip was from a movie scene featuring her co-star in Oko Laide.

The actress has had a turbulent marital history. Her first union was with US-based businessman Olumide Okufulure, a marriage that produced her daughter, Simi. Following their split, she wed Alhaji Mutairu Atanda Orilowo in 2012, with whom she shares two sons. That marriage reportedly ended after Orilowo faced legal troubles with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, in 2014.

She also has two sons with her second husband, Mutairu Orilowo, though details surrounding their separation remain largely private.

The actress began her career in 1999 with the film Adeyemi and has since appeared in numerous Nollywood productions, earning recognition for her performances.

Known for her candid views on relationships, Bakare previously shared on the Real Life with Aunty Ayo podcast that she remains unapologetic about her quest for companionship, even suggesting she would be open to marrying up to five times if that is what it takes to find lasting happiness.
