The All Progressives Congress, APC, has officially released its timetable and schedule of activities for the 2027 general elections,outlining key dates for primaries, screening, and submission of nomination forms.
The timetable, issued by the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja is in line with the provisions of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended), the Electoral Act 2026, and the revised guidelines of the Independent National Electoral Commission.
According to the schedule, the process begins with the issuance of notices of election to state chapters on Monday, April 20, 2026.
The timetable was endorsed by the APC National Organising Secretary, Suleiman Muhammad Argungu, who signed the document on behalf of the party leadership.
The release of the schedule signals the formal commencement of the APC’s internal processes ahead of the 2027 general elections, setting the stage for what is expected to be a highly competitive electoral cycle within Nigeria’s ruling party.

“The APC reassures members, stakeholders, and Nigerians of its commitment to conducting a credible and transparent primary election that will further strengthen the Party’s internal democracy and consolidate its progressive ideals,” the National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka disclosed in a statement on Monday.
The sale of nomination forms is slated to run from April 25 to May 2, 2026, while the submission of completed forms and accompanying documents will close on May 4, 2026.
• Screening and Appeals
The party fixed May 6 to May 8, 2026, for the screening of aspirants across all elective positions, including State Houses of Assembly, House of Representatives, Senate, governorship, and presidential categories. The publication of screening results is scheduled for May 11, 2026.
Aspirants dissatisfied with the outcome of the screening will have the opportunity to file appeals between May 12 and May 13, 2026.
• Primary Elections Timeline
The APC primaries are set to commence with the presidential primary election from May 15 to May 16, 2026. This will be followed by House of Representatives primary on May 18, 2026, Senate primary on May 20, 2026, State House of Assembly primary on May 21, 2026 Governorship primary on May 23, 2026
• Election Appeals
Appeals arising from the primaries will begin shortly after, with the presidential appeal scheduled for May 18, while those for the House of Representatives, Senate, State Houses of Assembly, and governorship are fixed for May 20, May 21, May 23, and May 25, 2026, respectively.
• Cost of Nomination Forms
The party also released the cost of its expression of interest and nomination forms for aspirants seeking elective offices.
For State House of Assembly aspirants, the total cost is fixed at ₦6 million, comprising ₦1 million for expression of interest and ₦5 million for nomination.
House of Representatives aspirants are to pay ₦10 million in total, while Senate aspirants will pay ₦20 million. Governorship aspirants are required to pay ₦50 million, and presidential aspirants ₦100 million.
However, the APC announced concessions for certain categories of aspirants. Female aspirants, youths, and persons living with disabilities are to pay only for the expression of interest forms and 50 percent of the nomination fees.
