Chelsea Football Club have sacked Head Coach Liam Rosenior following a run of bad results, the latest being a 3-0 loss to Brighton on Tuesday night.
The club expressed gratitude for Rosenior’s professionalism and integrity since his appointment midway through the season, but acknowledged that recent performances have not met expectations.
Calum McFarlane has been named Interim Head Coach until the end of the campaign, supported by Chelsea’s existing backroom staff. The club emphasized its focus on securing European qualification and progressing in the FA Cup.
Long-term appointment process will follow, aimed at bringing stability to the managerial role.
Chelsea released statement few minutes ago saying “Chelsea Football Club has today parted company with Head Coach Liam Rosenior.
“On behalf of everyone at the club, we would like to place on record our gratitude to Liam and his staff for all their efforts during their time with the Club.
“Liam has always conducted himself with the highest integrity and professionalism following his appointment midway through the season.

“This has not been a decision the Club has taken lightly, however recent results and performances have fallen below the necessary standards with still so much more to play for this season. Everyone at Chelsea FC wishes Liam every success in the future.”
The decision to sack comes following Tuesday night’s damaging 3-0 defeat by Brighton.
It was the club’s fifth successive Premier League defeat without scoring – their worst run for 114 years.
The decision comes three-and-a-half months after Rosenior was appointed on a five-and-a-half year deal as Enzo Maresca’s successor.
Sources say the club wanted to give Rosenior time and respected him “enormously” but felt they needed to act now to save the season. The difficulty of coming in mid-season has been acknowledged by the hierarchy and a breakdown of relationships with the players denied.
