APC adjusts timelines for aspirants on nominations

The screening schedule was also adjusted to fit the revised timeline

The All-Progressives Congress, APC, has announced as made some adjustments in deadlines for the sale and submission of aspirants’ Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms ahead of the 2027 general elections.

In a statement issued on Monday by its National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, the party also adjusted its screening schedule to accommodate the revised timeline.

Previously, the sale of forms was scheduled to run from Saturday, April 25 to Saturday, May 2, 2026, while the last day for the submission of completed forms and accompanying documents was Monday.

“The sale of forms has been extended to midnight on Wednesday while the submission of completed forms will now close at midnight on Thursday.

“Also, the submission of forms which was to be Saturday now has been extended till Tuesday while screening will now take place on Wednesday.

“The screening of aspirants will take place from Friday, May 8, to Tuesday, May 12, 2026, with the publication of screened aspirants scheduled for Wednesday, May 13, 2026”, the party said.

This development is expected to trigger increased activity within the party as aspirants race to meet the new deadlines for the 2027 polls.

The ruling party earlier fixed its presidential nomination form at N100 million, while the governorship form will cost N50 million.

It added that aspirants for the House of Assembly are required to pay N6,000,000, those seeking seats in the House of Representatives pay N10,000,000, while Senate aspirants are to pay N20,000,000.

The party last week Tuesday, commenced the sale of Expression of Interest and Nomination forms for aspirants seeking to contest various offices ahead of the 2027 general elections.

According to the party’s 2027 timetable, the sale of forms was initially scheduled to begin on Saturday, April 25 and end on Saturday, May 2, 2026, but the exercise eventually started three days later than planned.
