Similarly, Shehu Sani secured victory in the Kaduna Central Senatorial District primary election after polling 9,105 votes.

The Returning Officer, Samira Jibrin, announced that Yusuf Zailani garnered 1,021 votes, while Shettima Yerima, who had withdrawn from the race, polled 1,253 votes.

Speaking with journalists after the exercise, Sani expressed appreciation to President Bola Tinubu and Gov. Uba Sani of Kaduna State for their support.

“There is no better representation of the people of Kaduna State than me being their lawmaker and Uba Sani being the governor,” he said.

The former senator also thanked his supporters for giving him another opportunity to represent them and commended Yerima for stepping down from the race.

He urged all aspirants to unite and work for the success of the APC in the forthcoming elections.

Sani pledged to focus on addressing poverty, unemployment and other national challenges through effective representation and attracting more federal projects to the constituency.

Meanwhile, Sen. Sunday Katung emerged winner of the APC Kaduna South Senatorial District primary election after defeating former Sen. Danjuma Laah and Michael Ayuba.

Announcing the results at the collation centre in Jema’a Local Government Area, the Returning Officer, Prof. John Laah of the Federal University of Applied Sciences, Kachia, described the exercise as peaceful, transparent and credible.

Reacting to the outcome, Chairman of Zangon Kataf Local Government Area, Joseph Bege Gaiya, described the result as a reflection of the wishes of the grassroots and a demonstration of the party’s internal democracy.

Gaiya expressed confidence that the APC would secure overwhelming victories for Gov. Uba Sani, Katung and other party candidates in the 2027 general elections.

He also called on aggrieved aspirants to embrace reconciliation and party unity for the progress of the party.
