Barcelona launch €100m bid for Atlético’s Julián Álvarez

Catalan giants move decisively in €100m pursuit of Argentine forward

Atletico Madrid’s forward Julián Álvarez is at the centre of a major transfer development after Barcelona submitted an official €100 million offer to Atlético Madrid.

The bid is understood to be a straight cash proposal with no add-ons and no players included, marking Barcelona’s first formal move for the Argentine forward.

As reported by Fabrizio Romano on Friday that Atlético Madrid have reacted negatively to the approach over the past 24 hours, with the club unhappy about both the timing and the structure of the offer.

Despite that the situation remains open as no agreement has been reached between the two clubs.

The post read: “Barcelona sends first official proposal to Atlético Madrid for Julián Álvarez worth €100m. No add-ons, no players involved. Atlético, not happy about the situation over last 24h but Julián has already asked to leave.”

It is also being reported that Álvarez has already informed Atlético of his desire to leave, a development that could significantly influence the direction of negotiations in the coming days.

“Atlético are expected to review Barcelona’s proposal internally before issuing a response, with the Spanish side reluctant to lose one of their key attacking players without a replacement plan in place.”

In a related development, Ibrahima Konaté is set to leave Liverpool as a free agent after negotiations over a new contract broke down.

As reported by Fabrizio Romano on X on Friday, the France international will depart the club once his current deal expires, despite earlier optimism that an agreement had been reached in principle.

Talks had reportedly progressed well in recent months, with suggestions in April that a renewal was close, but no final deal has been agreed.

The development means Liverpool are now facing the prospect of losing one of their key central defenders without receiving a transfer fee, unless a late breakthrough is made in discussions.

The post read, “Ibrahima Konaté leaves Liverpool as a free agent, decision made. After advanced talks to stay with a fresh deal and confirmation from the player in April, Konaté leaves as no final agreement has been found. Negotiations over, as @TalkSport reports.

Konaté has been an important part of Liverpool’s defensive structure since joining the club, forming a strong partnership at the heart of the back line during domestic and European campaigns.

His physical presence, recovery pace and aerial ability have made him a key figure in the squad when fit.

Neither Liverpool nor the player’s representatives have officially commented on the reports, and the situation remains subject to formal confirmation.
