Nigerian music promoter and socialite, Sam Larry, is fighting for his life at the hospital after a road accident along the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Road in Lagos State.

Almost three years after the tragic and controversial death of singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohad, which triggered widespread allegations of bullying and harassment, Samson Balogun, aka Sam Larry, appears to be working hard to reshape his battered public image. His recent actions including an interview with controversial social media personality, VeryDarkMan, and a public outing at Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s polling unit during the state’s local government elections

However, it seemed the interview failed to have the intended effect. Rather than evoking sympathy or understanding, it sparked fresh criticism and ridicule. Many online commentators found his explanations inconsistent and self-serving, especially given the earlier viral videos where he was seen disrupting one of Mohbad’s music video shoots; a clip that significantly contributed to the public outrage against him last year.

Sam Larry was involved in a car crash in the early hours of Saturday. Reports indicate that the vehicle he was travelling in collided with a trailer, leaving it extensively damaged.

The accident also reportedly claimed the life of Sam Larry’s bouncer, who was said to have died at the scene. Videos and photographs circulating on social media showed the vehicle with severe front-end damage, highlighting the impact of the collision.

The incident gained public attention after comedian and master of ceremonies, Mario Wazobia, shared posts on Instagram calling for prayers for the music promoter.

In one of the posts, he wrote: “Pray for Sam Larry,” while another post claimed that the music promoter had been taken to hospital following the accident.

As of the time of filing this report, there has been no official statement from Sam Larry’s family or management regarding his condition.

Similarly, the police and other relevant authorities had yet to issue an official account of the circumstances surrounding the crash or confirm the reported casualty.

The incident has generated reactions on social media, with many expressing sympathy and offering prayers for Sam Larry’s recovery while mourning the reported death of his bouncer.
