Music mogul Sean Combs, better known as Diddy, has reportedly been placed in solitary confinement at the Federal Correctional Institution in Fort Dix, New Jersey, following an alleged dispute with a fellow inmate.
According to reports, the altercation occurred earlier this week after another inmate allegedly insulted the American rapper.
The confrontation reportedly escalated into a physical fight before prison officers intervened and separated the two men. Following the incident, prison authorities are said to have transferred Diddy to solitary confinement pending an internal review.
Entertainment outlet TMZ reported that the alleged fight could lead to disciplinary action if prison officials determine that Diddy violated institutional rules. Correctional authorities have not publicly commented on the reported incident.
The latest incident comes months after Combs’ high-profile federal trial, which followed his September 2024 arrest in New York City. The trial concluded in July 2025, with a Manhattan jury clearing him of the most serious charges, including racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking, but finding him guilty on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution under the Mann Act

On October 3, 2025, Judge Arun Subramanian sentenced him to four years and two months in prison, imposed a $500,000 fine and ordered five years of supervised release upon completion of his custodial sentence.
Before his legal troubles, Diddy was regarded as one of the most influential figures in American hip-hop. In 1993, he founded Bad Boy Records, the label that helped launch the careers of acclaimed artists including The Notorious B.I.G., Mary J. Blige and Usher.
Over the years, he built a successful career as a rapper, record producer and entrepreneur, becoming one of the music industry’s most recognizable figures.
Authorities are expected to determine whether the latest incident warrants formal disciplinary action after completing their investigation.
Neither Combs family nor his legal representatives had publicly commented on the reported altercation at the time of filing this report.
