Troops of Operation HADIN KAI, OPHK, have recorded another significant breakthrough following recent successful offensive operations against ISWAP/ISIS terrorists in the Lake Chad region of Northern Borno State.

The military said troops recovered several technical devices and intelligence materials, including a camcorder allegedly used by ISWAP to record propaganda videos and document its activities during recent offensive operations in the Lake Chad region.

Forensic analysis of the recovered devices subsequently generated actionable intelligence on terrorist locations and the identities of senior ISWAP leaders operating along the Mangari-Metele-Dogon Chukun axis in Abadam and Kukawa Local Government Areas.

According to OPHK, senior ISWAP figures identified through the intelligence include Abu Musa Al-Mangawi Baa Shuwa, the alleged governor of the ISWAP, Muhammad Jidda, also known as “The One-Handed Man,” who is identified as the group’s deputy, Amirul Jaish, and Hamad Abu Hanifa, the Amirul-Fiya of ISWAP.

Operation Hadin Kai says it will offer a substantial financial reward for credible and actionable information that directly leads to the arrest of Abu Musa Al-Mangawi Baa Shuwa, whom it described as the most wanted terrorist leader operating in the Lake Chad Basin.

The military assured members of the public that information provided would be treated confidentially and that the identities of informants would be protected in line with established security procedures.

It urged residents to support ongoing counter-terrorism operations by providing credible and timely information that could assist security agencies in locating and apprehending the identified suspects.

Members of the public with relevant information are advised to use established security reporting channels or contact 0708 498 8859.

The military, however, cautioned citizens against confronting or attempting to apprehend the suspected terrorists, urging them instead to leave such operations to security agencies.
