Romelu Lukaku is set to join Turkish giants Fenerbahce after Napoli reached an agreement with the Istanbul club for the Belgian striker, bringing his two-year spell in Italy closer to an end.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed the development on X, reporting that Napoli had given the green light for a club-to-club agreement after accepting an improved offer from Fenerbahce.
Romano said the latest proposal was worth more than €6 million, with Napoli agreeing to the deal after negotiations between the two clubs. He added that Lukaku had also agreed to the terms offered by the Turkish club.
“Romelu Lukaku to Fenerbahçe, here we go!” Romano reported, while noting that a verbal agreement had been reached and that the necessary paperwork was still being checked.
Napoli are reportedly set to receive an initial €6 million for the experienced forward, with additional performance-related bonuses included in the agreement.
The transfer represents a relatively modest fee for a player of Lukaku’s profile, but the deal would allow Napoli to move on from the Belgian striker after two seasons in Naples.
According to Italian transfer journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Lukaku has agreed personal terms with Fenerbahce on a contract worth approximately €10 million per season.
The financial terms underline the Turkish club’s determination to secure the services of the veteran striker as they strengthen their squad.
Another major step towards completing the transfer has reportedly already been taken, with Lukaku said to have passed his medical ahead of the proposed move to Istanbul.
The successful medical means the remaining process is largely administrative, with Napoli and Fenerbahce expected to exchange and complete the necessary transfer documents.

Although the clubs have reached an agreement and the player has agreed personal terms, the transfer is not considered completely final until the paperwork is completed and the move is officially registered.
The proposed transfer will bring an end to Lukaku’s two-year stay at Napoli, where he became an important part of the club’s attack.
During his time in Naples, the Belgian forward played a key role as Napoli competed for domestic honours and helped the club secure the Scudetto.
His physical presence, experience and ability to lead the attack made him an important figure for the Italian side during his spell at the club. The move to Fenerbahce will now give Lukaku an opportunity to begin another chapter of his career in Turkey.
Fenerbahce are expected to complete the signing once the final documents are exchanged and approved by both clubs.
For the Turkish giants, the arrival of an experienced striker of Lukaku’s calibre would represent a significant addition to their attacking options.
The Belgian has enjoyed a long career at some of Europe’s biggest clubs and has previously played in England and Italy, while also representing Belgium at the highest international level.
His experience could prove valuable to Fenerbahce as the club seeks success domestically and in European competition.
For now, the final paperwork remains the key outstanding step before Lukaku can officially be unveiled as a Fenerbahce player.
