Heavyweight political figures, including the Executive Chairman of the Nigeria Revenue Service, Dr. Zacch Adedeji, and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Barrister Nyesom Wike, are set to headline the Òyó State Emerging Political Leaders Summit 2026.
The two-day summit, scheduled for August 24–25, 2026, at the Ibadan Civic Centre, is themed “Bridging the Gap, Uniting Political Strength, and Mobilizing Emerging Leaders for 2027.” Organisers say it is designed to promote political reconciliation, strengthen grassroots coordination, and broaden support for the APC in Òyó State — while building momentum for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid.
Dr. Adedeji will serve as Chief Facilitator, leading a session on “Fiscal Renewal, Revenue Mobilization, and the Economic Future of Òyó State in the Context of Nigeria’s Progressive National Agenda.” The session is expected to link the state’s political future to the Federal Government’s ongoing economic reforms.
Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau I. Jibrin, will attend as Special Guest of Honour, while Minister Wike delivers the keynote address on “Bridging Political Divides, Building Strategic Alliances, and Mobilizing Òyó State for Progressive Victory in 2027” — a speech expected to dwell on coalition-building and political realignment in the state.

Other speakers lined up for the summit include the Minister of Youth Development, Comrade Ayodele Olawande; APC National Youth Leader, Mr. Dayo Israel; Executive Chairman of the Presidential Compressed Natural Gas Initiative, Barrister Ismael Ahmed; Barrister Seyi Tinubu; Oloye Jumoke Akinjide; Chief Engineer Dotun Sanusi; and Honourable Aderemi Oseni, with sessions spanning youth mobilization, political, energy reform, private sector engagement, and grassroots representation.
The event is expected to draw over 1,000 participants, including stakeholders from the APC, PDP, APM and other parties, alongside independent mobilizers, community leaders, youth and women leaders, civil society actors, and the media.
A major highlight will be the launch of the 50 Below 50 Project, Òyó State Chapter, and the signing of a Generational Inclusion Pact by Senator Sharafadeen Alli — the APC’s 2027 governorship candidate in the state — with emerging political leaders.
Organisers describe the summit as a timely intervention to reduce fragmentation among key political actors, restore the relevance of strategic stakeholders, and build a broader progressive coalition capable of shaping Òyó’s political future.
