Portuguese football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has married his longtime partner, model and influencer Georgina Rodríguez, in a private civil ceremony in Cascais, Portugal.
The couple tied the knot on Tuesday, August 11, after nearly a decade together, bringing to a close a relationship that has attracted global attention both on and off the football pitch. Their five children were reportedly present at the intimate ceremony.
Ronaldo, 41, confirmed the marriage through a post on Instagram showing two hands wearing wedding rings, accompanied by the caption “C❤️G”. The image quickly generated millions of likes, underlining the enormous global interest in the footballer and his family.
The wedding took place in the coastal municipality of Cascais, near Lisbon, although details of the ceremony and guest list have largely remained private. Portuguese media have described the event as one of the most anticipated celebrity weddings in the country.
The marriage marks the latest chapter in Ronaldo and Rodríguez’s relationship, which began in 2016 after they met at a Gucci store in Madrid, where Rodríguez was working at the time. Ronaldo was then playing for Spanish giants Real Madrid.
The pair subsequently built a family together and have five children. Rodríguez gave birth to their daughter, Alana Martina, in 2017.
The couple later welcomed daughter Bella Esmeralda in 2022, following the death of their twin son during childbirth. Ronaldo also has three other children.
After years of speculation about whether they would marry, Rodríguez announced their engagement on August 11, 2025. She shared a photograph of her engagement ring on Instagram alongside a message in Spanish that translated to: “Yes I do. In this and in all my lives.”

The engagement came after years in which the couple had publicly shared aspects of their family life while largely keeping details of their private relationship away from the spotlight.
Ronaldo’s marriage comes as he continues an extraordinary football career that has taken him from Sporting CP in Portugal to Manchester United, Real Madrid, Juventus and Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr. He has also remained a central figure for Portugal at international level.
The forward has established himself as one of football’s most prolific goalscorers and has continued to play at the highest level well into his 40s.
He recently featured at his sixth men’s FIFA World Cup, a record number of appearances in the competition that he shares with Argentina captain Lionel Messi.
Away from football, Ronaldo has become one of the world’s most influential athletes on social media. He was the most-followed individual on Instagram, with more than 664 million followers as of May 2026, giving his personal announcements an exceptional global reach.
Rodríguez has also developed a substantial public profile as a model, influencer and entrepreneur, with her relationship with Ronaldo placing her at the centre of international media attention.
The couple’s decision to formalize their relationship after almost 10 years together represents a significant personal milestone for two figures whose lives have remained closely followed by millions of fans worldwide.
For Ronaldo and Rodríguez, the private ceremony in Cascais now marks the beginning of their married life after nearly a decade as partners and parents.
