Ferran Torres, the Spain forward who scored the winning goal in the 2026 FIFA World Cup final, has joined European champions Paris Saint-Germain, PSG, from Barcelona.
The 26-year-old has signed a contract with the French champions that will keep him at the club until 2031, with the transfer reportedly worth around €50 million (£42.7 million).
Torres played a key role in Spain’s World Cup triumph last month, scoring the extra-time winner against Argentina to help his country secure its second men’s World Cup title.
His performances had already attracted attention following an impressive season with Barcelona, where he scored 21 goals in 49 appearances across all competitions and provided three assists. He also helped Barcelona secure the La Liga title before making the move to Paris.
Torres will now work under Luis Enrique, the former Barcelona player and manager who currently leads PSG. The transfer marks another major addition to PSG’s attacking options as the club seeks to maintain its dominance in European football.

Torres becomes the second high-profile forward to join PSG this summer, following the arrival of Maghnes Akliouche from Monaco.
The French champions have also started the new season strongly, adding another trophy to their collection on Wednesday with a 2-1 victory over Aston Villa in the UEFA Super Cup.
PSG have now won the Champions League in each of the past two seasons, further raising expectations around the squad.
Torres joined Barcelona in 2022 after spending two years at Manchester City. During his time with the Catalan club, he established himself as an important attacking option and continued to feature for the Spanish national team.
He has scored 25 goals in 65 appearances for Spain and made his international debut under Enrique, who will now coach him again at PSG.
The move could also have implications for PSG’s current squad, with forward Bradley Barcola reportedly attracting interest from Liverpool this summer.
Torres’ arrival is expected to provide Paris Saint-Germain with another attacking option as the club prepares to defend its domestic titles and pursue further success in Europe.
