APC chieftain, Hon. Bashir Omolaja Bolarinwa has dismissed the newly-converged G100 opposition front as a hollow alliance chasing power without a programme, declaring that it has “once again fallen short” of the hopes of millions of Nigerians seeking a serious alternative.
In a hard-hitting state-of-the-nation statement, Bolarinwa said what Nigerians witnessed was “an opposition more preoccupied with the pursuit of power than the welfare of the people.”
He accused opposition figures of waging a campaign of attack and discredit against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration from its first hours in office — targeting policies the critics “neither designed nor offered a coherent substitute for.”
“Whether a measure was sound or imperfect appeared secondary; the objective was simply to undermine it,” he said, dismissing the pattern as “criticism without construction; noise without an alternative programme that Nigerians can test, cost and compare.”
Pushing back against claims that the administration has nothing to show for more than three years in office, Bolarinwa called such assertions “neither honest nor professional.”
He reeled off what he described as visible gains: difficult economic reforms, strengthened public finances, expanding nationwide infrastructure, the NELFUND student loan scheme opening higher education “to hundreds of thousands of young Nigerians,” and recovering investor confidence and foreign reserves from the position inherited in 2023.
“These gains do not mean that Nigerians are now completely free from challenges,” he conceded. “They do, however, demonstrate that it is unfair to claim that the government has achieved nothing positive.”

Bolarinwa argued that the opposition’s “unrelenting and unconstructive criticism” has only made Tinubu politically stronger, as the public “can distinguish between opposition for its own sake and a government that is working to reset the foundations of the economy.”
He urged opposition figures to stop “diminishing Nigeria on the global stage” and join “the harder work of building the nation.”
“Nigerians are a discerning people. They can see the work being done. They can also see when politics is reduced to the desire to hold office without a serious plan for the people,” he said.
He closed with prayers for Tinubu’s “wisdom, strength and sound health” as the President prepares for “a second term in office,” adding: “May Nigeria continue to prosper under his leadership. God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria and all its citizens.”
