Gerard Adebija has been evicted from the 11th season of the Big Brother Naija reality television show, becoming the eighth housemate to leave the competition.

His eviction was announced by host Ebuka Obi-Uchendu during the sixth live eviction show on Sunday, September 6, after Gerard was placed among 15 housemates nominated for possible eviction in the sixth week of the competition.

Gerard’s exit comes as the “Show Ya Sef” edition enters its seventh week, with 16 housemates now remaining in the competition and continuing their pursuit of the ₦160 million grand prize.

The 23-year-old Lagos-based housemate was among the 24 contestants introduced when the 11th season premiered on July 26, 2026. The season is being contested over 72 days, with the winner set to receive a prize package valued at ₦160 million, comprising ₦100 million in cash and an SUV.

Gerard’s departure follows the eviction of Sultex and Goddessa in the previous week. Sultex received 4.77 per cent of the votes, while Goddessa polled 5.02 per cent, with Bells surviving after recording 5.22 per cent.

Gerard had also featured in the week’s Head of House contest, advancing to the final round before losing to Abi. The development came amid an eventful sixth week that saw the housemates navigate nominations, tasks and confrontations as alliances and individual strategies continued to evolve.

During the sixth live show, Ebuka also questioned Gerard about his position in the house and his approach to conflicts among the contestants.

Gerard explained that he did not believe another housemate’s battle automatically became his, according to the official Big Brother Naija account of the live show.

With eight housemates now out of the running, the remaining 16 contestants face more tasks, nominations and eviction rounds as the season progresses towards its finale for the ₦160 million grand prize package and the title of Big Brother Naija Season 11 winner.
