The Super Eagles of Nigeria have arrived in Bissau ahead of Tuesday’s 2027 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, qualifier against Guinea-Bissau.
The Nigerian contingent departed Victor Attah International Airport, Uyo, on Sunday after completing preparations for the second Group L qualifying fixture.
The team left Nigeria aboard a chartered ValueJet flight at about 5 p.m., following a final training session earlier in the day.
Promise Efoghe, Super Eagles Media Officer, confirmed the development to NAN, saying the team arrived at Osvaldo Vieira International Airport, Bissau, at about 8:40 p.m.
The Eagles had earlier defeated Madagascar 2-1 at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo on Friday to open their qualifying campaign with three points.
Nigeria will now face Guinea-Bissau, who defeated Tanzania 2-0 in their opening fixture to move ahead of the Eagles on goal difference.

The match will take place at the Estádio Nacional 24 deg Setembro in Bissau on Tuesday.
Guinea-Bissau, ranked 132nd in the world and 38th in Africa, have faced Nigeria four times, winning once.
Their only victory came in 2023 during the AFCON qualifiers when they defeated the Super Eagles 1-0 at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abuja.
Nigeria will be seeking another positive result to strengthen its position in Group L, while Guinea-Bissau will aim to build on its opening victory.
Only the group winner will secure a qualification ticket for AFCON 2027, with Tanzania already guaranteed a place at the tournament as one of the co-hosts.
The Super Eagles will therefore look to secure another result in Bissau as the race for the group’s sole qualifying ticket intensifies.
