Arsenal edged Nottingham Forest 1-0 at the City Ground on Sunday, with substitute Noni Madueke scoring the winner ten minutes from time.
Mikel Arteta’s side found it hard to break through Forest’s disciplined defense for most of the game.
Madueke’s late goal gave them three valuable Premier League points and kept them in the title race.
Arsenal had plenty of the ball but created few clear chances against Oliver Glasner’s well-organized team. Forest defended in a tight block and looked to hurt Arsenal through striker Liam Delap’s strength and direct running.
The breakthrough came in the 80th minute. Rice set up Madueke, who cut inside and shot.

The ball took a deflection off Forest defender Jair Cunha and beat goalkeeper Matz Sels.
Forest kept pushing.
Rice blocked an attempt by Chris Wood, and Murillo’s curled effort went just wide.
Deep into stoppage time, Ezri Konsa made a vital defensive intervention to stop Delap from grabbing an equalizer.
Arsenal held on for all three points, though the performance left room for improvement.
