The Kano State Hisbah Board has warned residents against participating in the popular ‘Color Fest Party’, describing the gathering as an activity capable of undermining moral values in the state.
The Deputy Commander of the board, Sheikh Mujahideen Aminuddeen, issued the warning on Thursday in Kano, following complaints about the alleged activities of participants.
Aminuddeen said the organisers and participants usually gathered around Dangi Flyover along Zoo Road, particularly on Sunday evenings.

He warned that anyone caught participating in the event would be arrested and prosecuted.
According to him, the board received reports that the gatherings involved the mixing of men and women, dancing, drinking and other activities he described as contrary to religious teachings.
He maintained that such activities could negatively affect the moral upbringing of young people in the state.
“The board will not tolerate activities capable of damaging the moral upbringing of young people in the state,” he warned.
The Hisbah official urged residents to avoid the gatherings and uphold the religious and cultural values of Kano State.
