A fire outbreak occurred at the Jabi Lake Mall in Abuja in the early hours of Thursday, destroying the Adidas Sports store within the complex.
The blaze reportedly started around 3 a.m., though the cause of the fire had yet to be determined as of the time of filing this report.
Emergency responders from the Federal Fire Service, Berger Fire Department, and the FCT Fire Service, along with police officers, were quickly deployed to the scene to control the situation and secure the area.
A resident of Jabi, identified simply as Saliu, confirmed the incident and said the fire had been fully contained.

He told our correspondent, “Around 3 a.m. this morning, there was a fire incident at the Jabi Lake Mall in Abuja. No loss of life or injury was recorded. Only the Adidas Sports shop was affected.”
The FCT Police Public Relations Officer, Josephine Adeh, also confirmed the incident, noting that officers were mobilised to prevent looting and maintain public order.
She said, “We received a distress call at about 3:40 a.m. We immediately deployed our men there to secure the place and prevent any breach of public order.”
Thursday’s incident comes just days after another fire outbreak at the Old Karu Market in Abuja, where goods worth millions of naira were destroyed before firefighters brought the blaze under control.
