The Nigerian Army has arrested a suspected arms supplier, rescued a kidnap victim and disrupted several terrorist logistics channels during multiple coordinated operations carried out in the last 24 hours.
A credible military source told the News Agency of Nigeria that troops of Operation FANSAN Yamma on Thursday apprehended a suspected terrorist informant during an ambush at Ungwan Gombawa in Kontagora Local Government Area of Niger State.
Similarly, soldiers of 1 Brigade arrested a major logistics agent and alleged arms dealer at Danjigba in Bukkuyum Local Government Area of Zamfara. Preliminary investigations linked the suspect to two coordinators in Anka LGA who allegedly stored weapons sourced from Niger Republic.
Recovered items included military uniforms, a helmet, boots, financial receipts amounting to about ₦4 million and audio recordings allegedly linked to arms transactions.
In Kebbi, troops acting on intelligence about the abduction of students of Government Girls Secondary School, Maga, raided a terrorist camp in the Gando–Sunke Forest allegedly run by a kingpin known as Bello Kaura. The terrorists fled, abandoning the site, which troops later destroyed.

Another suspected informant travelling from Sokoto was intercepted at Augie, where five ATM cards, clothing and ₦78,900 were recovered.
Troops also survived an ambush along the Kaiga–Mara road in Katsina, forcing the attackers to retreat. Separate operations in Shinkafi and Zurmi LGAs led to a firefight in which soldiers seized two AK-47 rifles, ammunition and two motorcycles.
Under Operation Enduring Peace in Plateau State, troops foiled a kidnap attempt in Jos South and rescued a victim with gunshot injuries. Eight suspected criminal herders were also arrested in a separate operation in the area.
In Nasarawa, soldiers under Operation Whirl Stroke responded to the kidnapping of three passengers and injury of a driver, while two herders were arrested for crop destruction in Guma LGA of Benue.
The Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Waidi Shaibu, recently toured operational bases in Borno, Kaduna and Zamfara, urging troops to maintain discipline, vigilance and momentum in the fight against terrorism.
