The Nigerian Army has reported a series of coordinated operational breakthroughs within the last 24 hours, rescuing 21 kidnapped victims, disrupting terror activities, and uncovering illegal crude oil operations across several regions.

A source at the Army Headquarters told the News Agency of Nigeria, that troops intensified pressure on terrorists and criminal networks across all theatres of operation, delivering measurable results in the North-West, North-Central, South-South and the Federal Capital Territory.

Troops under Operation FANSAN YAMMA in Zamfara and Kebbi successfully repelled attacks, rescued civilians, and responded swiftly to violent incidents.

In Maradun, soldiers of 1 Brigade engaged terrorists who invaded Baigasuwa community, pushing them back and rescuing residents, though four civilians sustained gunshot injuries.

In Kebbi State, terrorists attacked a Nigeria Immigration Service checkpoint in Bagudo, killing three personnel and torching operational vehicles before escaping.

Despite the assault, other troops in the state rescued five persons and a baby along the Unashi–Doka road in Danko Wasagu LGA after terrorists abandoned their captives when confronted by soldiers.

In the North-Central, troops under Operation MESA in the Kogi and Kogi–Kwara axis rescued four kidnapped victims during a shootout with insurgents at Konan Leda in Lokoja.

Following the offensive, 11 more victims managed to escape from captivity. Two motorcycles and a radio set were recovered during the encounter, while another victim was freed in the Kwali area of the Federal Capital Territory.

In the South-South, troops of the Joint Task Force, Operation Delta Safe, intensified the crackdown on crude oil theft. Security teams in Eleme, Rivers State, discovered 350 bags of stolen crude oil estimated at about 10,500 litres.

Another patrol in Bonny recovered equipment used in illegal refining operations, including hoses, a Yamaha engine and several jerricans, after suspected oil thieves fled the scene.

Other theatres, including formations under Operation HADIN KAI in the North-East and units currently executing phases of Desert Sanity IV, recorded no major incidents but continued clearance operations and area security patrols.

Military sources reaffirmed the commitment of troops to remain on heightened alert nationwide, stressing that the Armed Forces will continue to deny terrorists, bandits and oil thieves the freedom to operate across Nigeria.
