The Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN, Lagos State Chapter, Mr. Ibrahim Adigun has commended President Bola Tinubu for appointing a university don, Prof. Segun Aina to head the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB.
Adigun described the appointment of Aina, a 39-year-old academic, as a reflection of Tinubu’s commitment to competence, innovation and youth inclusion in governance. According to him, Aina possesses the required competence and experience to lead the examination body effectively.
“Prof. Segun Aina’s outstanding academic record, expertise in digital systems, and contributions to examination and institutional reforms make him highly deserving of this important national responsibility.
“His appointment is a clear reflection of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commitment to competence, innovation and youth inclusion in national development.
“We also commend President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for continuously creating opportunities for capable young Nigerians to contribute meaningfully to governance and nation-building,” Adigun said.

The NYCN chairman said youths in Lagos were inspired by Aina’s emergence into such a strategic national position.
He said the appointment had strengthened confidence among young Nigerians in the present administration’s readiness to promote merit and excellence.
Adigun expressed confidence in Aina’s ability to sustain and improve on the achievements recorded by the outgoing JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede.
“We are confident that Aina will build on the remarkable achievements of Prof. Ishaq Oloyede and further strengthen the credibility, innovation and operational efficiency of JAMB.
“On behalf of Lagos youths, I congratulate Professor Segun Aina on this well-deserved appointment and wish him a successful and impactful tenure in office.
“We believe his leadership will further reposition the board for greater efficiency and service delivery,” he said.
The News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, reports that Tinubu on Thursday announced appointment of Aina as the new Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, succeeding Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, whose tenure expires on July 31.
Aina, who turns 40 in July, is a distinguished academic and systems expert with extensive experience in examination systems, digital infrastructure, institutional reform, and public-sector technology-driven operational transformation across Nigeria.
