Health workers in Kwara State should desist from falsification of health information, Prof. Nusirat Elelu, Executive Secretary, Kwara State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, has warned.
At the state Quarterly Review Meeting with Health Managers and Partners in Ilorin Elelu stressed that accurate and reliable data remain critical for effective planning, decision-making, resource allocation, and the overall improvement of health outcomes.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the meeting was organized for Heads of Department of Health, Local Immunization Officers and Routine Immunization Officers.
“This meeting provides an opportunity to review the status of immunization and other Primary Health Care, PHC, activities across the state. It also identifies challenges and develops strategies for improved service delivery”, said Elelu.

The executive secretary emphasized the agency’s commitment to promoting accountability, transparency, and quality service delivery at all levels of healthcare.
She lauded the health workers for their efforts in advancing primary healthcare services across the state.
Elelu, however, urged them to remain dedicated, professional, and committed to their responsibilities to sustain the gains recorded in the sector.
Meanwhile, the World Health Organization, WHO, State Coordinator, Dr Emmanuel Eyitayo, reiterated the need for health workers to adequately educate caregivers on the Adverse Events Following Immunization, AEFI.
He noted that misconceptions and concerns about AEFI often discourage some mothers and caregivers from presenting their children for routine immunization.
The WHO representative emphasized the importance of proper communication and sensitization to sustain public confidence in vaccination programmes.
