Umar Yar’Adua and Gabriel Kavod are set to go head-to-head in a three-round boxing bout in Abuja on Saturday, as the social media personality continues his growing involvement in the sport.
Yar’Adua announced the upcoming contest on his Instagram page, @umar.yaraduuaa, on Wednesday, urging his followers and boxing enthusiasts to attend the event.
The bout is scheduled to take place at Lavish Loft Lounge in Gwarinpa, Abuja, with proceedings expected to begin at 6 p.m.
According to Yar’Adua, tickets for the event will be sold for N2,000, while an after-party is planned to follow the boxing contest.
“Comment ‘FIGHT’ and I’ll send you the ticket link for my fight happening this Saturday,” he wrote in his Instagram post.
The promotional poster for the event describes the contest as “three rounds of pure boxing” and lists Lavish Loft Lounge and The Playground as presenters.

The fight is expected to attract attention from Yar’Adua’s growing social media following, particularly as his involvement in boxing has become increasingly visible in recent months.
Yar’Adua has used his social media platforms to document his interest in boxing and other personal pursuits, giving his followers an insight into his preparation and motivation for stepping into the ring.
His decision to take up boxing has generated mixed reactions online, with some followers showing support while others have questioned his move into competitive fighting.
In a recent video shared on Instagram, Yar’Adua explained that boxing appealed to him because it offered an opportunity to test himself independently of his family background and public expectations.
He said stepping into the ring would provide a situation where his family name could not determine the outcome, leaving the result to the performance of the two fighters.
The upcoming contest will combine the sporting spectacle with entertainment, with the organizers planning an after-party immediately after the bout.
With the fight set for Saturday evening, attention will now turn to Yar’Adua and Kavod as they prepare for their three-round encounter in Gwarinpa.
