A 25-year-old businessman who recently got married has landed in National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, custody after officers caught him with 72 wraps of cocaine allegedly concealed in his stomach at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu.
The NDLEA arrested Lovely Chukwulobelu on Thursday, September 25, while he attempted to board an Ethiopian Airlines flight to Portugal via Addis Ababa.
NDLEA spokesman, Feminist Babafemi disclosed that officers intercepted Chukwulobelu at the airport’s departure hall and placed him under excretion observation after discovering that he had ingested cocaine.

He said Chukwulobelu subsequently excreted 72 wraps of the Class A illicit drug.
The NDLEA spokesman said the suspect claimed he operated a car decoration business at the Trade Fair Complex in the Ojo area of Lagos before relocating to Portugal in May 2023.
He said the suspect recently returned to Nigeria and got married on Sept. 13.
Babafemi quoted Chukwulobelu as saying he resorted to drug trafficking to offset expenses incurred during his wedding.
