The Federal Government has commenced investigation into the private jet accident that occurred at the Ibadan Airport on Friday night.

It was gathered that a private jet reportedly skidded off the runway at the Ibadan Airport, Alakia, Oyo State.

The flight, which had departed from Abuja at 6:41 p.m., was carrying several high-ranking government officials.

One such was the Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, and some of his aides aboard the aircraft.

At 7:21 p.m., the crash-landing happened, involving ten people on board. It is noteworthy that no one was killed, even though the plane was heavily damaged.

Nonetheless, representatives of the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau, or NSIB, verified the event and emphasized that no one was hurt.

They announced that bureau investigators had been dispatched to the accident scene and assured that more information would be released as it became available.

“Yes. Investigators are on ground at Ibadan. Further details shall be given as they unfold”, the spokesperson, NSIB, Tunji Oketumbi disclosed.

The General Manager of the State Fire Service, Yemi Akinyinka also confirmed the incident saying: “Yes, it is true. Our men are on their way but I don’t have details now. You will be updated”.
