In a disturbing incident, a Paris Saint-Germain, PSG , supporter was viciously attacked by hooded assailants just before the French club’s Champions League match against AC Milan, according to Italian police reports.

The victim, an unnamed French man, suffered “serious injuries from two stab wounds in the leg” while in Milan on Monday night and was promptly transported to the hospital, as stated by the police.

The man, reported to be 34 years old, is said to be in stable condition, and his life is no longer in danger, as per Corriere della Sera newspaper.

Witnesses recounted that the altercation took place between approximately 50 Milan fans and French supporters in the Navigli area of the northern Italian city. Videos circulating on social media, shared by Italian news outlets, depict a group of men gathered by a canal known for its cafes, bars, and vibrant nightlife.

The Paris Saint-Germain Football Club, also known as Paris Saint-Germain, Paris, Paris SG, or just PSG, is a professional football team situated in Paris, France. Its pronunciation in French is [paʁi sɛ̃ ʒɛʁmɛ̃]. They play in the top division of French football, known as Ligue 1.

Having won over 40 official honors, including eleven league titles and one major European trophy, they are the most successful club in France. Their home field is the Parc des Princes, which is close to the commune of Boulogne-Billancourt in Paris’ 16th arrondissement.

Suddenly, the atmosphere turns chaotic as they scatter in response to another group of individuals, some of whom are seen wearing hoods and carrying objects resembling batons.

This unsettling attack occurred less than two months after a Newcastle United supporter was stabbed in the same vicinity of the city prior to a Champions League match against Milan.

Milan, a seven-time European champion, is set to host PSG, who currently lead Group F with a two-point advantage. The French team had previously defeated the Italians 3-0 at the Parc des Princes just a fortnight ago.

The match at the San Siro was already expected to be intense, and the return of Italy’s goalkeeper, Gianluigi Donnarumma, who departed Milan as a free agent in the summer of 2021, would further stoke the flames.

This crucial fixture could significantly impact both teams’ chances of advancing to the Champions League knockout stages, as only four points separate the four teams in the group. Milan, at the bottom of the group with just two points, had yet to score a single goal in their opening three matches.
