The suspense surrounding the Lagos State governorship election reached a new height as the Supreme Court has kept the parties on edge, reserving its judgments in two crucial appeals.

Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour of the Labour Party ,LP, and Azeez Adediran from the Peoples Democratic Party ,PDP, sought the Court’s intervention against Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s election victory.

These appeals stem from the contentious decisions of the Court of Appeal in Lagos, which upheld the rulings of the election tribunal, dismissing the petitions lodged by Rhodes-Vivour and Adeniran, contesting Sanwo-Olu’s triumph in the governorship polls.

In a gripping courtroom session presided over by Justice John Okoro, the Supreme Court assured the involved parties that they would be promptly notified when the judgments are prepared for delivery.

Noteworthy figures including the deputy governor, Femi Hamzat, the State Secretary, Abimbola Salu-Hundeyin, and several senior officials from the Lagos State Government were present at this crucial legal juncture, underlining the significance of this case for the state’s leadership.

The courtroom atmosphere crackled with anticipation as these decisions hold the potential to shape the future political landscape of Lagos State. The quest for clarity and resolution on the governorship outcome continues, echoing the hopes and concerns of the people of Lagos who await the Supreme Court’s ruling with bated breath.

Stay tuned for the Supreme Court’s pivotal judgment, as the fate of Lagos State’s gubernatorial leadership hangs in the balance, awaiting the final word from the highest judicial authority in the land.
