Singer Iyanya has revealed that one of his colleague Mayorkun’s reported stolen necklaces has been returned.
The Nation reports that, Mayorkun vowed never to perform in Calabar again after being robbed of his multi-million naira jewelry while in town for an event.
Remember how Iyanya begged those in possession of the jewelry to return them, promising a reward for the gesture? On Tuesday, the singer announced via his X handle that one of the necklaces had been returned.
“Thank you to the guy who brought this back this morning to THE GRAND HOTEL CALABAR,” Iyanya wrote, sharing a photo of one of the necklaces with the inscription, “The Mayor Of Lagos.”
“Just returned is one of two pieces of @Mayorkun jewelry.” We still have one more to go. Please assist us in returning the second one, my brothers.”
In another post, Iyanya promised a $500 reward to anyone who returns the second necklace, which bears the inscription “Of Lagos.”
“We’ll pay $500 if we get the second pendant.” The funds are at The Grand Hotel Calabar.”
