After Ondo State Governor Rotimi Akeredolu passed away on Wednesday, December 27, there are rumors that Lucky Aiyedatiwa, the state’s acting governor, will take the oath of office as the Sunshine State’s legitimate governor by 4 p.m. today.
Prior to this, Crediblenews had revealed that Akeredolu passed away at the age of 67 from a protracted illness.
After a three-month medical leave in Germany, Akeredolu returned to Nigeria in September.

On December 13, he took yet another medical leave, as President Bola Tinubu had instructed him to transfer authority to his deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
The medical leave was a reaction to an earlier medical procedure.
