Millions of naira were lost by well-known Nollywood actress Bidemi Kosoko when a fire broke out at her home on Boxing Day, December 26.
Shola Kosoko-Abina, her sister and coworker, claims that she shared the tragic news on Wednesday, December 27, on Instagram along with videos showing the damaged apartment and other items.

“We thank God for his faithfulness, love, and the prosperity of our lives in the year 2023,” the woman wrote.

In my family, spending Boxing Day, December 26, at our father’s house has become a custom. There, we exchange gifts and open them. We made the decision to document the events this year since having a good time with family is always enjoyable.

Bidemi Kosoko’s apartment was locked since she, her spouse, their children, and their domestic helper were staying at our father’s house. We were having a great time when we got a frightening call that Bidemi’s apartment and her neighbor’s apartment were on fire.

Actually, before we got the call, my dad, Bidemi, and I were getting ready to go to another significant event. And that’s exactly what happened in the video that we saw.

Shola claims that, the firefighters managed to extinguish the fire with the assistance of Bidemi’s friend Taiwo and her spouse. Furthermore, Shola Kosoko said:

She continued, “We watched the scenario on various video calls, including how the fireman arrived, how her apartment was forced open, and how they finally extinguished the fire.

“We are grateful to Taiwo Lawal, Bidemi’s friend, and her husband, who reside on the same estate, for their prompt assistance. To make sure the fire was extinguished, neighbors showed their love and support for one another.

“Thank you for your love and kindness, everyone. I hope this doesn’t happen to anyone else.

All in all, we are grateful to God that the fire did not claim our lives. We will be able to enjoy a peaceful and happy 2024. Please give God praise for us. Overall, we are grateful.
