The Build-A-Thon initiative program of the Ministry of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy has announced the opening of applications for teaching positions.

Bosun Tijani, Minister of Communication, Innovation, and Digital Economy, the program was introduced earlier in December and will encourage senior secondary students to adopt technology early.
It is anticipated that 1,500 students from 150 schools in three locations—Owerri, Maiduguri, and Abeokuta—will participate in the four-day program in January 2024.

As Val Ozigbo and his family were returning from Owerri, he noticed a convoy approaching him fiercely and making an attempt to push him off the road. With haste, he instructed his drivers to move off the road so that the other convoy could pass.

“They encountered the gunmen at UGA junction shortly after passing Ozigbo; they opened fire, killing two police officers. Ozigbo, who had parked during the incident, discovered afterwards that Uba’s convoy had been attacked.

Remember that at Enugwu-Ukwu, Njikoka local government area, last year, a similar attack occurred on the convoy of Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, another prominent state politician, killing two staff members and four of his security personnel with gunfire.

“Anambra State Police Command has launched an intense manhunt for armed insurgents who killed two police personnel on December 28, 2023, at approximately 18.30 hours, 6.30 p.m.,  after they infiltrated from a neighboring state,” the statement reads.

The group, who appeared to be on a kidnapping mission while dressing in military fatigues, was startled to see two armed police officers moving toward them.

“To relieve traffic congestion, they started shooting at the officers who had advanced ahead of the convoy they were leading. The bandits were forced to escape when other officers returned fire, being cautious not to hit too many passing cars.

“A mobile Forward Operating Base led by police, which had been conducting intensive patrols throughout the area during the Christmas season, arrived at the scene without delay.
