On Friday, the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, FAAN announced another power interruption at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, MMIA.

FAAN made the announcement to avoid the controversy that followed the three-minute power outage that occurred at the International Airport about one week ago.

The spokesman for FAAN, Obiageli Orah, said the latest outage would only last for a few minutes.

Posting on their website, the agency said they were testing their power equipment to ensure it functions properly, hence the power outage.

The message said: “To serve you better, we’re testing our power equipment at Murtala Muhammed International Airport today. This means the power will be off for a short time this afternoon.”

Recall that travelers had berated President Bola Tinubu’s administration over a power outage at the International Airport.

A viral video making the rounds on social media narrated how travelers and others at the airport experienced a blackout on Friday night, leaving them in darkness for some minutes.
