The Defence Headquarters reported significant military achievements in February, with troops neutralizing 974 terrorists, capturing 621 others, and rescuing 466 hostages across various regions of the country.
Maj.-Gen. Edward Buba, Director of Defence Media Operations, disclosed these details during a press briefing in Abuja. He said among the recovered items were 1,573 assorted weapons, 23,345 arms, and ammunition.
The recovered arsenal included 640 AK47 rifles, 248 locally fabricated guns, 93 pump action guns, 168 dane guns, and various rounds of ammunition.
Operations in different parts of the country yielded substantial results. In the North East, Operation Hadin Kai neutralized 242 terrorists and apprehended 57 suspects, while 1,157 Boko Haram/ISWAP fighters surrendered. Operations in the North Central and North West also saw successes, with troops eliminating terrorists, apprehending suspects, and rescuing hostages.

In the South-South, troops of Operation Delta Safe intercepted suspected oil thieves, impounding large quantities of stolen crude oil and petroleum products. Similar operations in the South East led to the neutralization of terrorists, the arrest of suspects, and the rescue of hostages.
Overall, the report highlights the continued efforts of the armed forces to maintain security and combat terrorism across various regions of the country.
