On Thursday, the Algeria Football Federation revealed the appointment of Bosnian Vladimir Petkovic as the head coach of the Desert Warriors.
Super Eagles coach, Jose Peseiro, was reportedly in the running for the role. However, the North Africans have chosen Petkovic instead. According to information on the official website of the Algeria Football Federation, Petkovic will arrive in Algiers on Sunday to finalize his contract.

The 60-year-old will be officially presented during a press conference next Monday.
Algeria decided to part ways with former head coach Djamel Belmadi last month after the Desert Warriors were eliminated early from the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON.
The two-time champions didn’t advance past the group stage of the competition.
