It was also gathered that security operatives including the police, soldiers and men of the Amotekun Corps from Ondo and Ekiti states, in collaboration with some local vigilantes are currently combing the forests to rescue the victims.

When contacted on Sunday, the state commander of the corps, Adetunji Adeleye, who confirmed the incident, said his men were already after the hoodlums in the forest, expressing optimism that the remaining victims would be rescued unhurt.

Adeleye said “my men and soldiers from Ekiti are combing the forest but the hoodlums did not kidnap the whole 18 passengers in the bus.

“Some of the passengers escaped themselves, while our men with soldiers, recovered some of the victims in the night. Our men have combed the forest as we speak.”
