The order directed parties in the suit to maintain status quo regarding the structural and architectural design of the palace pending hearing and determination of the suit.

The applicants filed an exparte application dated 9th September and supported by 33 Paragraphs affidavit deposed to by Matawallen Kano Alhaji Ibrahim Ahmed.

The court also ordered the monarch to be served with the court processes by substituted means and fixed October 2 for hearing on motion on notice.

Recall that in June, a Kano State High Court presided over by Justice Amina Aliyu restrained Aminu Ado-Bayero and four other deposed Emirs of Bichi, Rano, Gaya and Karaye from parading themselves as Emirs.

Delivering the judgment, Justice Aliyu further restrained the 15th Emir of Kano and four other dethroned Emirs by themselves, servants, privies and any other persons appointed by them from parading themselves as Emirs of Kano, Bichi, Gaya, Rano, Karaye.

Also the State Government had filed a suit asking the state High Court to stop the 15th Emir, Bayero, and four other Emirs of Karaye, Bichi, Rano and Gaya from parading themselves as Emirs.

The government also gave the deposed Emirs 48 hours within which to vacate their respective palaces after being deposed.
