In a significant show of support, major corporations and government agencies including the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas, Federal Inland Revenue Service, and state governments from Delta, Lagos, and Osun have partnered with the Guild of Corporate Online Publishers, GOCOP, for its upcoming eighth annual conference.

The conference, which is scheduled to take place in Lokoja from 2nd to 3rd of next month, has also attracted backing from prominent organizations such as the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, TotalEnergies, and real estate company T-Pumpy Concept Limited.

GOCOP’s Publicity Secretary, Remmy Nweke, announced this in a statement, confirming the involvement of additional sponsors such as the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board, Emadeb Group, and Dangote Group.

The conference, themed “Nigeria: Tackling Insecurity, Power Deficit, and Transitioning to a Digital Economy,” will feature exclusive sessions for GOCOP members on October 2, followed by the main conference, open to the public, on October 3.

Confirmed speakers include Yusuf Mamman, former Nigerian Ambassador to Spain, who will chair the conference, Lt-General Tukur Yusuf Buratai (Rtd.), former Chief of Army Staff, and Aminu Maida, Executive Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission.

The event will also feature a panel discussion with Rotimi Ajayi, Professor of Political Science at Federal University Lokoja, and Debrah M. Ogazuma, a veteran broadcaster.

In previous years, notable figures such as Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, JAMB Registrar, Rev. Matthew Hassan Kukah, Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Sokoto, and Boss Mustapha, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, have participated as speakers at the GOCOP conference.

GOCOP was established to uphold the tenets of journalism among online publishers.
