Social media influencer Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, appeared at the National Assembly on Monday, accompanied by his lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, however, Bobrisky (Idris Okuneye) himself was absent.
VeryDarkMan was attending a session before the House of Representatives Joint Committee investigating allegations of corruption within the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, and the Nigerian Correctional Services, NCoS.
Also present at the session were representatives from the EFCC, NCoS, and Bobrisky’s lawyer, Avwerosuoghene Omuvwie.
When called to speak, VeryDarkMan declined, stating: “Today, I will not say anything because an invitation was given to both me and Bobrisky. But he is not here. I don’t see why I will be here and he is not. So I won’t say anything, but my lawyer will.”
Meanwhile, the House of Representatives has barred journalists from covering its ongoing investigation into the ₦15 million corruption allegations against Bobrisky.
This decision was conveyed by the Joint Committees on Financial Crimes and Reformatory Services, which stated that media access would not be allowed, despite an earlier invitation extended to the press for the hearing. The sudden ban raises concerns about transparency and accountability in the investigation.
The probe was initiated following a motion adopted last Thursday to investigate claims that the EFCC accepted ₦15 million from Bobrisky in relation to his recent legal issues.

Credible News recalls that a video shared by Martins Otse, a.k.a. VeryDarkMan, in which Bobrisky, claimed that after his sentencing, his godfather, in collaboration with the Controller General of the Nigerian Correctional Service, arranged for him to serve his six-month sentence in a private apartment.
Bobrisky said: “There’s jealousy involved. When I got to court, I admitted guilt, hoping for either a fine or community service. However, the court sentenced me.
“On my way to prison, my godfather called and assured me I wouldn’t enter prison. He told me not to worry and said he would arrange an apartment near the prison and speak to the Comptroller General of Prisons in Abuja.
VeryDarkMan, while condemning these acts, called on the EFCC and the Correctional Service to investigate and bring to book the perpetrators of such acts, as according to him, only the poor masses gets to suffer for crimes while the rich in the country go free even after committing heinous crimes.
