There are two key qualities that citizens often look for in their leaders: competence and integrity. The ability to deliver meaningful change and fulfill campaign promises—both in terms of potential excellence and commitment—is essential to good leadership and aligns with public expectations.

From his current performance as a two-term federal parliamentarian to his distinguished international managerial experience and his keen judgment on national issues, Rt. Hon. Adedeji Dhikurillah Stanley Olajide stands as a model leader. His readiness to make necessary changes when required further solidifies this assessment.

Stanley’s political journey reflects a commitment to the principles of democracy and excellence, placing them above political convenience. His actions have consistently been guided by his belief in pursuing excellence, even when it wasn’t the easiest path.

Hon. Olajide, who turned 60 on October 2nd, began his political career in 2003 as a stalwart within the popular Molete political university, under the tutelage of the revered political generalisimo, late Baba Lamidi Ariyibi Adedibu. In 2019, he was elected to the House of Representatives under the platform of the PDP, representing the Ibadan Northwest/Southwest Federal Constituency of Oyo State.

Those who have worked closely with Olajide — whether as the CEO of international successful Oil & Gas company, Bentley Energy Nigeria Limited, or as a Bio-informatician, or as the member of the Federal Representatives – attest to his ingenuity and his capacity to handle complex administrative, humanitarian & political challenges with effective solutions. It is no surprise that he has risen to leadership roles in various capacities, often with an unprecedented record of Midas touch.

Olajide has consistently used his positions to advance and safeguard the interests of the people of Ibadan Northwest/Southwest Federal Constituency. He has successfully drawn the attention of both the state and federal governments to his constituency. Moreover, as a federal legislator, he has diligently sponsored and supported laws aimed at promoting the nation’s growth and development while providing effective representation for his constituents in Ibadan and beyond.

Despite facing political distractions with both legal encumbrances after first & second tenure electoral victories and from some ill informed oppositions within and outside his constituency, Olajide has taken bold steps to exemplify true leadership and deliver on his responsibilities.

Rep. Adedeji Stanley Olajide, popularly known as Odidi-Omo, represents the Ibadan Northwest/Southwest Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, having won the seat in the March 2019 elections. Upon being sworn in, he quickly demonstrated his commitment to his constituents, moving a motion on his first day in office to address environmental degradation, specifically requesting intervention in several areas of his constituency.

Within his six years ongoing as MHR, Rep. Olajide has been highly active, sponsoring motions and bills, and playing an important role in various standing and ad-hoc committees. He has made significant achievements, including providing many 300KVA transformers to areas with electricity challenges and organizing a free medical outreach for residents. Despite criticism from some quarters, his leadership and dedication to his constituency have been widely recognized.

Olajide has also contributed to his community by supporting religious institutions, offering financial contributions, and providing luxury cars to community leaders. During the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic, he distributed relief packages worth hundreds of millions of naira to his constituents and gave educational grants to students, emphasizing his dedication to their well-being and development.

Focused on security and access to clean water, Rep. Olajide has installed streetlights and drilled boreholes across his constituency. He has also prioritized education by renovating schools, providing modern furniture, and introducing ICT programs. His efforts to empower youth through skills training and animal husbandry initiatives further demonstrate his commitment to uplifting his people. Olajide continues to serve with a clear vision for future developments and remains a generally acceptable choice of the populace to lead Oyo State in general from 2027.
