The Ogun State government is preparing to recruit another 1,000 Teaching Experience Acquisition Channel, TEACh, interns to fill vacancies in public primary, secondary, and technical schools.

This initiative, coordinated by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology in collaboration with TESCOM, SUBEB, and OGSTVEB, aims to address teacher shortages in the state’s education system.

In a statement issued by the Commissioner for Education, Science, and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu, it was disclosed that prospective applicants must have at least a National Certificate in Education or a Bachelor’s degree in Education with a minimum of Second Class Lower. Applicants from non-education backgrounds are also eligible if they hold a Post-Graduate Diploma in Education from a recognized university. Additionally, candidates applying for technical colleges must possess a B.Sc. in Technical Education, Engineering, or a Higher National Diploma in engineering fields.

The recruitment process is open to interested candidates from October 16 to November 6, 2024, through the Ogun State Job Portal at www.teach.ogunstate.gov.ng.

Successful candidates will be deployed to Local Government Areas with critical teaching needs. These TEACh interns will serve for two years, receiving monthly stipends, and will be evaluated based on their skills, dedication, punctuality, and willingness to work in designated locations. Following the internship, they may be considered for permanent positions, as 4,000 previous interns have already secured permanent teaching roles.

This recruitment marks the final phase of the state’s commitment to hiring 5,000 teachers under Governor Dapo Abiodun’s administration, with the previous batches now fully integrated into public schools across Ogun State.
