The Nigeria Association of Law Teachers, NALT, is calling for an increase in the number of slots for the prestigious rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria, SAN.

This request came during the association’s 2024 Annual Conference held at the University of Ilorin, Kwara, themed: “Law, Democratic Consolidation and National Development.”

NALT’s National President, Prof. Nimah Abdulraheem, expressed concern over the underrepresentation of law educators among the ranks of SAN. She highlighted the importance of their inclusion in the Council of Legal Education to enhance recognition within the legal profession.

“Our commitment to improving legal education and the rule of law has been the cornerstone of NALT’s development for over fifty years,” Abdulraheem stated. She assured members that the association would take necessary actions to ensure their contributions are acknowledged.
