Understanding wife: Netizens slam Egungu of Lagos over leak of private video
The week kicked off with a frenzy as a leaked private video of popular socialite Kuye Adegoke famously known as the Egungu of Lagos, surfaced online.
The footage quickly went viral, sparking heated debates and reactions from internet users across various platforms, his wife had taken to social media just a day earlier to preempt the leak, publicly affirming her unwavering love and support for her husband despite the controversy.
In the leaked clip making the rounds on social media, Egungun of Lagos was seen brushing his teeth during a video call with an unidentified woman while dressed in shorts and flashed his private part to the lady on the call.
Nigerians across social media platforms berated popular content creator for involving in such act.
Before the video surfaced online, his wife, Pashotah, had publicly addressed a blackmail attempt involving her husband’s private videos.
She took to her Instagram on Sunday to defend the husband, saying, “Hi guys, someone is blackmailing me with my husband’s videos. My name is Pashotah and y’all know my husband is, obviously I know so many people have wanted to bring both of us down including guys and girls.
“I always choose to ignore but I’m not ignoring today cuz the blackmailer didn’t go to Egungun of Lagos directly to blackmail him but he came to me instead cos (sic) he has a motive of putting me to shame like he said his messages above but one thing he (blackmailer) doesn’t know is that this relationship between myself and my husband is not just built today, this relationship has been coming for over 6-8 years when we both had nothing.
“This relationship is built on trust, understanding, loyalty, commitment and so many more. So there is nothing that can bring us down, not even now.”
However, this development has sparked widespread reactions online, with many questioning Egungun’s earlier image as a family-oriented man.
This, netizens believed, has cast aspersions on his wife for her staunch defense of their marriage with some concluding that Egungun’s action is a betrayal of his wife’s trust, others pointed to the possibility of the video being a misinterpretation or an old clip intended to tarnish his image.

NNPCL abandons Nigerian market to export Port Harcourt refinery petroleum products
The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited has sold the first cargo of Port Harcourt refinery low sulfur straight run fuel oil, LSSR, to Dubai-based Gulf Transport & Trading Limited, GTT.
The company is expected to load the cargo in the coming days onboard the Wonder Star MR1 ship, signalling the commencement of operations at the plant and the exportation of petroleum products.
A report by a data and analysis company, Kpler on Friday stated that the refinery started up its Coolant Distribution Unit 1 this week, with its estimates pinning operations at 20,000 barrels per day.
It stated that the 60,000bpd facility, currently operating at 70 per cent capacity, sold its first low sulfur straight run fuel oil cargo, pointing to a gradual and phased start-up of operations.
This move has been viewed as a source of concern as there abounds fuel scarcity, coupled with high prices of the product in Nigeria.
