Dr. Doyin Okupe, a former presidential spokesperson, has extended his congratulations to Malam Mele Kyari, the Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, NNPCL, on his 60th birthday.
In his congratulatory message to Kyari, Okupe acknowledged that the NNPCL, under Kyari’s leadership, had silenced critics.
“I am one of those who were critical of NNPC and even mocked the establishment of the NNPCL.
“Like my former boss, President Olusegun Obasanjo, I never believed anything positive could come from NNPCL or its leadership.
“However, the recent diverse and significant achievements of the corporation have proven us former critics wrong, and many of us now take immense pride in Mele Kyari and his team.

“The revival of our refineries and the renewal of critical industry infrastructure, which has led to a notable decrease in Premium Motor Spirit, PMS, prices, deserves recognition.
“I take this moment to congratulate Mr. Mele Kyari on reaching the milestone of 60 years,” Okupe remarked.
The former Director-General of the Peter Obi Presidential Campaign Organisation also apologized to the NNPCL CEO for his initial lack of faith in the corporation.
He wished Kyari continued success and expressed hope that Kyari would take further steps to lower PMS prices, alleviating the hardships faced by many Nigerians.
Okupe prayed for God’s blessings and reward for Kyari “mightily.”
